The Chiang Rai Immigration office is now open.  Monday - Friday, 08:30 to 16:30
Phone numbers are 053-175-376 and Fax is 053-175-377
They will handle reporting, extension of visa, letter of residency and so on.  They will NOT process work permit paperwork.  You will still need to report to the Mae Sai office for W.P. related paperwork.

The office is across the river, north, on highway 5023 at the new Chiang Rai Provincial Administration Organization office (Aor Bor Jor).  This is located just north of the yearly Riverside Flower Festival highway entrance.

The office mentioned in the previous posts has moved.  It is now across the river, to the north-east, in the vicinity of the Riverside Flower Festival.  The building complex where the office is housed is the Chiang Rai Provincial Administration Organization office (Aor Bor Jor).  To find the Thai Citizen Passport Services Office, enter the main building entrance in the front center of the "L" shaped building, go straight about 30 meters and then make a left and go to the end of that hallway.
